Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders announced on Wednesday that he is suspending his campaign to win the Democratic nomination for the Presidential election in November, 2020.

The veteran politician who has inspired millions of Americans, and at the same time has caused a great deal of controversy in the American political arena with his sometimes extremely left-wing agenda, announced his decision during a conference call he held with his campaign staff today.

Sanders’ decision paves the way for former Vice President Joe Biden to become the official candidate of the Democratic party, and face President Donald Trump in the upcoming election in November.
