New York City Greek Film Festival to Take Place Between October 17-23

The New York City Greek Film Festival will take place this year between October 17 and October 23, 2019.

Six days full of spellbinding cinematography and special events will offer many unique cultural experiences and insights for both Greek and American audiences at the Festival.

Well-known Greek actress Maria Tzompanaki, the Director of the New York City Greek Film Festival, recently issued a statement announcing the lineup of films for this year’s event.

Tzompanaki noted that this year’s program will present more than forty movies and will even feature the launching of an all-new category.

Movies which are international productions and incorporate themes of Greek interest will also be shown at the Festival, even if the films did not originate within the country of Greece.

As Tzompanaki’s announcement states, this year’s Festival will also include ”a digital exhibition of … the sublime history of the world’s greatest Greek of all time, Alexander the Great.”

This exhibition has also been shown at the Greek Institute of Venice.

The festival will take place at Florence Gould Hall, located at 55 East 59th Street in New York City.
