University of Delaware to Offer Greek Language Instruction

Delaware‘s Secretary of Education, Susan Bunting, signed a decree last week regarding the initiation of a Greek-language teaching program in the State’s University system.

The new initiative will take place in cooperation with Greece’s Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and the instruction will be offered by the School of Education of the University of Delaware.

”Modern Greek-ARTC”, as the program will be called, is going to be part of Delaware’s teaching certification program; more specifically, part of the ”Alternative Routes to Teacher Certification” program.

All those who will take the lessons, will obtain a certification for teaching Greek as a foreign language in the US.

The University of Delaware is located in Newark, Delaware and it was established in 1833.
