The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of America Elpidophoros will meet with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington, DC on Wednesday.
This is the first time that the Archbishop has visited the American capital after his election. Elpidophoros and he will stay in the United States capital for four days, from Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18.
On Tuesday, Elpidophoros will attend a reception and dinner held in his honor and hosted by the Order of Saint Andrew, which will feature special guest Patriarch Theofilos III of Jerusalem.
Archbishop Elpidophoros has also been invited by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Ambassador Samuel Brownback, the US’ Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom, to address a conference called ”Protecting Vulnerable Religious Minorities in Conflict and Crisis Settings.”
The event will take place at the State Department on Wednesday afternoon.
Elpidophoros will then attend an official meeting and reception of religious leaders hosted by Secretary of State Pompeo.
