Hundreds of Milwaukee Bucks fans shouting “MVP!” gathered at the city’s airport on Sunday to greet Giannis Antetokounmpo on his return from a disappointing last game against the Toronto Raptors.
Antetokounmpo scored 21 points for the Bucks, but that was still not enough to stop the Toronto Raptors from winning Game 6 of the Eastern Conference basketball finals with a 100-94 score and advancing to the NBA finals.
The Bucks had led 2-0 in the series, but the Raptors bounced back to win the series 4-2 and take the conference finals for the first time in the team’s history.
Antetokounmpo received heavy criticism for not being able to close out the series and ultimately going silent when the spotlight became too bright.
Giannis is considered to be the MVP of the league, but with this latest loss, some people are second-guessing just how good the Greek Freak really is.
Regardless, Bucks fans are still appreciative of the great Greek player, showing him their support in a warm welcome upon his return to Milwaukee.
