Greek Cinema Returns to New York City, October 19-23

NYC-greek-film-festivalGreek cinema is set to return to the bright lights and global stage of New York City. This year, the NYC Greek Film Festival (NYCGRFF) is entering its 12th year, boasting a lineup is more diverse and talented than ever.

This year’s film festival will continue the NYCGRFF’s mission to promote Greek artists and talent to the world. A total of 25 film screenings are scheduled, including features, shorts, and documentaries.

This year, for the first time ever, audience members will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite film of each category. The winners in each category will receive a cash prize.

The festival will also pay special tribute to Greek actor Giorgos Kimoulis, for his contribution to Greek theater and cinema.

The festival will run from October 19-22 at New York City’s Florence Gould Hall Theater, while the festival’s closing ceremony will be held on October 23 at the Friars Club. Detailed information about this year’s festival lineup is available here.
