The Hellenic American Medical and Dental Society of California (HAMDS) will be continuing its annual tradition of awarding scholarships to medical and dental students of Greek and Cypriot heritage at its annual Dinner at the Redondo Beach Marriott Torrance on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
HAMDS has been awarding scholarships since 1988, giving over $250,000 since its inception to the next generation of Greek-American doctors and dentists.
This year’s recipients are Sina Bacol, Dean Furkioti, Jr., Andreas Lazaris, Evangelia Lazaris, Christos Sarantopoulos, Nikolaos Sarantopoulos, Alexander Sherman and Zachary Ellis.
The annual event is a fundraiser with a goal to continue the worthy cause of supporting the students and their dreams. For those interested in attending or sponsoring the non-profit organization and its mission, more details can be found on the HAMDS website.
For supporters that will not be able to attend the Scholarship Dinner, the organization has also setup a GoFund me page.
The event will also feature live music from Peter Deneff, Greek-American Soprano Maria Patzakis, and Nia Matty. It is expected to have over 100 attendees.
