More Than $2M Raised for Greece at Hellenic Initiative Gala

More than $2 million were raised at the annual gala of the Hellenic Initiative (THI) held in New York on Friday, September 21.

The money will be invested in entrepreneurial programs in Greece and NGOs that foster development opportunities and provide crisis relief to the vulnerable.

The funds were raised from a live auction of items provided by Greek jewelry and fashion designers from around the world.

Among the items auctioned were designs from Lalaounis, Nikos Koulis, Alexandra Koumba, Diane Kordas, Minas, Vanessa Geroulanos, Danelian, Ancient Greek Sandals, Zeus + Dione, GK Furs, Callista Crafts, Patricia Field, and more.

Chris Diamantopoulos was the Master of Ceremonies at the black-tie gala that took place at New York Hilton.

This year’s honorees were Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever and THI’s Regeneration program partner and Corinne Mentzelopoulos, philanthropist, owner, and CEO of Château Margaux,
