American Airlines announced a nonstop daily service from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Athens for the 2019 summer season.
The service on a Boeing 787-Dreamliner will start on May 3, 2019.
The Athens airport hailed the news: “Chicago is coming to Athens,” it said on twitter.

An AA spokeswoman said the carrier decided to add the route based on the success of new nonstop service to both Barcelona, Spain, and Venice, Italy from Chicago.
