Moving Oxi Day Tribute to Biden Wins Critical Acclaim

A Washington Oxi Day Foundation video made in tribute to U.S. politician Joe Biden and his late son Beau, has won two honors at a prestigious awards event.

The 39th Telly Awards which “honor excellence in video and television across all screens” chose the tribute video produced by the Foundation which was was screened during its Courage Awards Gala in Washington, DC on Oct. 27, 2016.

In the moving footage, Biden — U.S. Vice President under Barack Obama — describes some of the challenges he faced during a long political career, including the 1972 death of his first wife and one-year-old daughter Naomi in a car accident.

Biden’s two sons, Hunter and Beau, survived the crash but tragedy struck again in 2015 when Beau died at the age of 46, after a two-year battle with brain cancer.

Joe and Beau Biden were honored by the Oxi Day Foundation in 2016 for “their courage, in the spirit of Oxi Day, to promote freedom and preserve humanity”.
