Young Greek-Canadian Rock Band to Tour US (video)

Motion Device, a young Greek-Canadian hard rock band who are building a serious online following are to do a mini tour of the United States.

Singer Sara Menoudakis, her sister Andrea (bass, keyboards), brother David (drums) and cousin Josh Marrocco (guitar) hail from Toronto, Ontario. They started uploading covers of rock and metal songs by the likes of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin onto YouTube in 2010.

The young band soon created a solid fan base, impressed by the voice of Sara who was singing Black Sabbath at the age of 10, dressed like frontman Ozzy Osbourne. It was 2012 and David was 13, Andrea 15 and Josh 18 at the time.

It wasn’t long before their fans discovered that Motion Device write their own songs too, and started liking the band’s original songs better than the covers.

Last year, the young Greek-Canadians raised $60,000 CΑD from crowdfunding to record their debut Wide Awake, a double-CD concept album. They also shot several professional videos along the way.

Motion Device are to tour the U.S. soon, with scheduled shows in New York, Indianapolis and Atlanta, taking their rocking songs to a wider audience.
