A New York diner once frequented by David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve and which has been at the heart of the Greek-American community in Queens for 30 years could be changing hands.
The Neptune, on Astoria Boulevard, is reportedly for sale with Easter Consolidated, a real-estate investment firm, confirming it will be sold “subject to the existing diner lease, which expires August 31, 2019 with no further extension options”.
However, the owners have not verified the planned sale.
Many Greek-American customers of the Neptune took to social media, upset at the idea of losing an eatery which had become a central part of the community.
The classic diner also hosted late music legend David Bowie and actor Catherine Deneuve when they were in New York filming The Hunger in 1982.
