TV Personality Maria Menounos Opens Greek Food Stand in Boston

Former “E! News” anchor, Greek-American Maria Menounos, is opening “Maria’s Greek Kitchen” in Boston, a pop-up concessions stand that’ll feature some of her family’s authentic Greek recipes.

Opening Sept. 4 on Yawkey Way, outside the famous Fenway Baseball Park, the stand will sell ballpark fare with a distinct Mediterranean flavor, items like gyros, lettuce wraps, hummus plates, and kabobs.

It’ll be a homecoming of sorts for Menounos, an Emerson grad who used to sell sausages from a cart outside Fenway.

“I come from a long line of professional Greek cooks, so I feel an obligation to stay true to my roots with authentic recipes and high-quality ingredients,” says Menounos, who’s partnering in the venture with Aramark.

Menounos, 39, has said she wants to take a step back from her TV career as she recovers from a brain tumor that was diagnosed in February and subsequently removed during a seven-hour surgery. She’s said the experience has led her to seek a balance in her life: More fun, less work.
