Federation of Cypriot American Organizations Elects New President

The conference of the Federation of Cypriot American Organizations (FCAO) wrapped up on Saturday in New York with the unanimous election of the Federation’s new President Kyriakos Papastylianou as well as its 15-member board.

Delegates of 25 associations, which are members of the Federation from all over the U.S., as well as officials attended the conference. The Cyprus government was represented by Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Issues and Overseas Cypriots Fotis Photiou, and the Greek government by Alternate Minister of National Defense Dimitris Vitsas.

The conference was addressed by high-ranking officials of the diplomatic missions of Greece and Cyprus in New York as well as by Archbishop of America Demetrios.

Commissioner Photiou is holding a meeting with overseas youth organizations on the sidelines of the conference, and has announced that the implementation of a host program for young people of Cypriot origin (12-17 years old) living abroad will take place as of 2017.
