Chef Peter Minais will host a Greek/Mediterranean dinner in northern New Jersey in May and will, for the first time in New Jersey, teach a hand-made phyllo dough class.

Peter Minakis is the creator of the food blog Kalofagas and a frequent contributor to Greece’s Free Press Gastronomy website. He hosts and cooks for the Kalofagas Greek Supper Club, casual intimate gatherings featuring regional food and wines, in Canada and the United States. In addition, Minakis teaches cooking classes and provides catering services.

His dinner “Escape Goes Mediterranean” at Escape Montclair, on May 12 at 7pm, will include a three-course-meal with an amuse bouche and desert.

On May 13 at 7pm at Le Gourmet Factory, Chef Minakis will teach how to make tender, delicious phyllo dough with three different fillings: classic spinach and feta, cheese and semolina custard. In addition, students will have the opportunity to take home phyllo which can be freezed and re-used! The class costs $75 per person.
