The Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund organized a cocktail reception on Thursday, September 10, in order to award scholarships to Greek-American students.
The organization decided that this year, in light of its monumental 25th anniversary, it would not organize the usual annual Gala, and instead it established an on-line fundraising campaign so that all funds received would be awarded to the 2015 scholarship recipients, who were presented at the cocktail reception.
The cocktail reception was organized by Chairman John Casimatidis and it took place in New York under the auspices of a benefactor. The HTSF awarded 27 scholarships for the year 2015 at the reception which honored Greek-American Governor and former Presidential candidate Michael Dukakis.
According to Nick Katsoris, Dinner Chairman and President of the Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund the organization has now awarded over 1000 scholarships through its 25 years of operation. With every donation of $250 or more the benefactors were able to get a scholarship in their own name, company name etc, thus making their contribution even more personal.
