If money was not a key issue, then this year, Greece would be filled with thousands of Americans, looking to have a great vacation.
Greece was placed among the top five holiday destinations for tourists traveling from the U.S., according to the TripBarometer study conducted by travel website TripAdvisor.
The survey asked 6,700 American citizens to decide where they would like to travel during the summer vacation, if money was not an issue.
After calculating the responses, it appears that most Americans voted for Italy. With worldwide famous attractions such as the Colosseum and the canals of Venice, the ranking came as no surprise. Italy was closely followed Australia, New Zealand and Ireland, while Greece was in fifth place.
The list also included the United Kingdom, France, Caribbean, Germany and finally Spain.
Greece’s white sandy beaches and crystal blue seas, as well as the numerous historic monuments and tourist attractions have made the country one of the most desired vacation destinations for Americans.
