Youth is the power to make choices. It is a state of mind. Young people, respectful of their mentors, bring their own life experiences to their jobs and associations.

Greek-American Stavroula Kotrotsios is a professional who set a goal and achieved it. On January 5, 2015, Kotrotsios was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney for the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Honorable Judge Richard M. Capelli of the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas swore in Kotrotsios, who vowed to uphold the laws of the Commonwealth and her duties as an Assistant District Attorney with fidelity and respect. District Attorney Jack Whelan attended the ceremony along with Stephanie Wills, Deputy District Attorney, Mario Civera, Chairman of Delaware County Council and Officials from the District Attorney’s Office. In attendance was also Kotrotsios’ family and friends.

Kotrotsios was born and raised in Delaware County and is a graduate of Marple Newtown Senior High School. She went on to study Philosophy and Political Science at Villanova University where she graduated Cum Laude. During her time as an undergraduate she also attended the University of Oxford as a visiting scholar. Kotrotsios received her Juris Doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2014 where she was admitted to the Rubin Public Interest Honor Society. Kotrotsios interned with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office during both her summers as a law student where she was inspired to become a prosecutor. She is honored and looking forward to serving the Delaware County community as an Assistant District Attorney under the supervision of D. A. Whelan. Along with her sister, Aphrodite, Kotrotsios co-founded Hermes Young Professionals Initiative, established in 2007.
