Newly Elected NY Mayor Appoints Greek-American to Office

emma wolfeNewly elected Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio appointed Emma Wolfe as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs. Emma Wolfe, who is of Greek origin, has played a key role in the election campaign and the victory of Mayor de Blasio.

Wolfe comes from the city of Lowell, Massachusetts and she studied at Barnard College.

The newly elected Mayor of New York is the first Democratic Party candidate to be elected after Michael Bloomberg’s 20 successive years in office. Transitions from one Mayor to another can be tough, but that is not true in this case, seeing as Wolfe is extremely effective in her work.

According to Capitalnewyork.com, Wolfe stands just over 5’3, slight in build and younger in appearance than her 34 years. Wolfe hardly looks or acts the part of a tough political operative ready to do combat with the state legislature. Yet, she is apparently one of the toughest in the business.

Wolfe prefers to avoid the public light and keeps a low profile. When the new Mayor announced her appointment to office, he said she was one of his most trusted associates.

Nathan Smith, an expert in political strategy said, “I have been saying for years that Emma is by far the best organizer in the city, if not the state.”

He continued, “There are hourly goals, there are nightly goals, there are weekly goals. It’s very much science and a little bit of magic, and Emma has a great ability to start from week one and understand where you need to be in week 16, and understand all the little steps you need to get there.”
