Lead vocalist of the American Christian metalcore band As I Lay Dying Tim Lambesis will stand trial on the charge of trying to hire a hit man to kill his ex-wife Meggan Murphy. Unfortunately for Lambesis, the hit man he tried to hire was an undercover officer.
In May 2013, the 32-year-old Λambesis met “Red”, alias the undercover officer Howard Bradley, in a bookshop. During their meeting he reportedly said: “Just to clarify, just so you know, I do want her dead,” handing him an initial $1,000 deposit, Meggan’s name and photo, the security code for her flat, a description of her vehicle and three proposed dates for the assassination.
On September 22, it was decided that Lambesis would have to go on trial for the case.
According to Superior court judge Robert Kearney’s decision, As I Lay Dying’s front man faces α maximum οφ nine years in prison.
