Catsimatidis Within Margin of Sampling Error

John-Catsimatidis-cThe difference between Greek-American billionaire businessman, John A. Catsimatidis and  Joseph J. Lhota over the Republican nomination in the mayoral elections of New York, was within the margin of sampling error, as stated by NYT.

Presenting the results of a new poll conducted in cooperation with the Siena College, it is noted that the race for the Republicans remains characterized by uncertainty, because most voters say they do not know the candidates.

Therefore, 65% of Republicans said they did not have an opinion of Lhota, and 70% said the same about Catsimatidis.

Gail Pecheur, 71, who lives on the Upper West Side and worked in architecture and interior design stressed that, “Bloomberg had a great vision for the city, and I haven’t seen that from any of these candidates so far. Although I’m a Democrat, I would vote for a Republican or an independent who has a great vision for the city.”

Generally, most voters seem to be satisfied with the crop of contenders, in contrast with most Republicans, potentially undercutting the arguments of candidates seeking to run for minor-party lines, including Adolfo Carrión Jr., a former Bronx borough president who plans to run in the general election as the nominee of the Independence Party, and Jack Hidary, a wealthy technology executive, who says he will seek to establish another minor-party line to run in the general election.
