AHEPA Awards Andrew Manatos

ManatosAndrew Manatos was honored by AHEPA with the Outstanding Public Advocacy Award for the decades of his work in Washington for the promotion of the issues of Hellenism.

As it is noted in an announcement of AHEPA, Andrew Manatos defended for more than five decades the issues of Hellenism and Orthodoxy, first during his tenure in the US Senate and in the Carter government and the last 30 years as the president of the company “Manatos & Manatos”, which provides free labor worth more than 500,000 dollars for the promotion of these issues.

Some of his most important achievements is the ensuring of a meeting of the Greek-American community with every president of the USA for 27 consecutive years, the securing of the signatures of 90 Senates in a letter to the president on the religious freedom of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, his leading role in order for the Ecumenical Patriarch to be honored with the Congressional Gold Medal and the effort he made with the USA leadership to change the vote of France and Germany in order for Cyprus to become an EU member.
