George Chryssis, Business Leader Found Dead

CHRYSSISOn May 31, the important Greek-American businessman, author and poet, George C. Chryssis, was found dead in his house in Southborough Massachusetts by his wife Margo. The cause of his death has not officially been announced yet.

According to the National Herald, the 66-year-old Chryssis was married and had three grown up children. Since January 1, 2011, Chryssis was President of the Benjamin Franklin Technical Institute of Boston. During his career, Chryssis founded several high technology companies focused on innovation, including those specializing in fiber optics and software.

He worked for the promotion of education, the arts and the letters and served many institutions in a variety of leadership and executive positions. He dedicated his time in promoting and helping the Greek American community to achieve and maintain high standards through faith, good citizenship, business, education, the arts and philanthropy. He was an advocate and a communicant of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and a congregant at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox parish in Weston Massachusetts.
