The lead singer of the heavy metal band As I Lay Dying, Tim Lambesis, has been charged with plotting to kill his wife, but no motive was given.
Authorities said that the Christian heavy metal vocalist of Greek descent had hired a professional hit man to murder his estranged wife, but the supposed killer was an undercover police officer.
According to a spokesman of the local police authorities, Lambesis was arrested in Oceanside, near San Diego. The police said they had learned of the plan the previous week.
Due to the ongoing investigation, police haven’t revealed how they found out about the alleged plot or the reason why he may have wanted to kill his wife, who filed for divorce in September, 2012.
