Greeceās unique beauty as a tourism destination was presented in a ceremony held in San Fransisco. Greek areas with breathtaking beauty promoted the special charm of the Greek landscape.
The main object of the event was the promotion of Greek tourism destinations through social media and was organized by the Consulate General of Greece in San Francisco-Trade Office in collaboration with the Greek National Tourism Organization in New York.
John A. Vlahides, co-host of the National Geographic TV series Lonely Planet was the presenter and coordinator of the event. San Francisco’s Consul General of Greece, Ioannis Andreadis, Regional Vice President and General Manager of the Fairmont Hotel San Francisco, Thomas Klein, director of the GNTO Greek National Tourism Organization office in New York, Chrysanthos Petsilas and Alexandros Trimis, CEO & Co-founder of Dopios website. Dopios is a community marketplace where travelers can discover authentic experiences created by locals.
The event was attended by tourism agents, journalists, tourism representatives, tourism company directors from the social media. They all had the opportunity to watch a special video with Greek beautiful landscapes and taste Greek food and wine.
