Greek Tourism Seeks U.S. Help

Greek Tourism General Secretary Tasos Liaskos met on Oct. 24 with American officials and said he was told they are willing to help promote tourism to Greece.

He discussed with them plans for future development and investment opportunities and said the government’s strategy also includes expanding tourism into the marine and medical fields, improving tourism infrastructure and upgrading  human resources training.

Liaskos welcomed the U.S. government’s willingness to support Greece through a partnership development.He also highlighted the importance of  having more American tourists and stressed that despite protests against austerity that Greece is safe. s

The U.S. side said it could offer advice in helping increase tourism.
