Greek Exports Gaining in American Market

Greek product exports to the USA have shown an increase of 20.88 percent in the first semester of 2012, according to the American statistics service. Revenues rose from $453.7 million to 588.5 million during the same time last year, while Greek exports have increased by 8.4 percent in the past two years.

According to a report issued by the Greek Embassy to Washington, U.S. exports to Greece dropped in the first quarter, worth $1.1 billion and have fallen 2.1 percent compared to the same period in 2010. The decline for the first quarter this year was 10.87 percent compared to 2011.

In addition, the trade balance between the two countries created a first-time time surplus for Greece during the reporting period and during a crushing economic crisis when it’s seeking to gain revenues from all areas, particularly exports.
