The Association of Greek American Professional Women (AGAPW) presented Eleni Daniilidou, Greece’s best professional tennis player, during a special ceremony in Astoria Park, New York, on Aug. 26.
Daniilidou is former world #14, participant in three Olympic Games, and has played in all major Grand Slam tournaments, including this year’s Australian, French, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open. She talked to her fans about the game and posed for photos with them.
AGAPW members took advantage of her visit to New York for the US Open to invite her to be the guest of honor in a special ceremony and she said she was excited to share her professional secrets with her little friends and enjoyed their attention and obvious admiration. She was to face Ekaterina Makarova of Russia in the first round.
