Greek TV Cooks Move to America

Many Greek cooks, TV show hosts, have moved to the United States in the past few months. Following Argyro Barbarigou, Maria Loi and Eftihis Bletsas, now Americans will have the chance to watch Vassilis Kallidis’ TV cooking show.

According to real.gr, his American new show will be called The cooking Odyssey and will be broadcast by a big US network. Mr Kallidis will be ‘teaching’ his American audience some Greek recipes. Apart from Kallidis’ Odyssey, Barbarigou will also host the Eats Greek to Me show. Her show will comprise 26 episodes, all focused on the Greek cuisine. In 13 of these episodes, Barbarigou will travel across Greece where she will present some traditional Greek recipes, while in the other 13, she will visit Hollywood stars in their apartments in the USA, and will cook with them.

Maria Loi enjoys much success in the States. Besides her restaurant in New York called Loi, she also hosts the Cooking at Loi show on PBS, while Oprah Winfrey is a major fan of hers, insisting on republishing Loi’s recipes on her blog.

Last but not least, Eftichis Bletsas is about to move to America in order to present the Cook Smart-Save Cash show. He will prepare modern low-cost recipes based on traditional Greek products.
