Hellenic Times to Award Scholarships to Young Greek Students

On May 12, the Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund has organized an event for Greeks living in the USA. The award ceremony will take place at the Marriott Marquis in New York.

The educational organization was established 20 years ago by the family of Ioannis Katsimatidis, and has provided more than 800 students with scholarships amounting to 2 million dollars.

Many actors, singers, businessmen of Greek origin, and other professionals who are successful in their own field will attend this year’s event as they do every year.

During this year’s 20th anniversary, Greek singer Giannis Ploutarchos, Kalomira and Grammy Award nominated singer Maxine Nightingale will entertain attendants.

Some of the guest speakers will teach business, law and real estate, and media, arts and fashion in two of the organized workshops. The workshops are included in the ticket price.

Among the people awarded this year will be Dennis Mehiel, reporter at Fox News, with the Humanitarianism Award, and Mike Emanuel with the Journalist Contribution Award.
