Athenian Society of NY Presents First Book Expo of Hellenic Writers of the Diaspora

Τhe Athenian Society of New York presents “The First Book Exposition of Hellenic Writers of the Diaspora” on Saturday, April 21, from Noon to 8pm.

Dedicated to the literary efforts of Greek-Americans to preserve the Greek language and culture in the USA, the upcoming educational and cultural event will feature several poets and writers, including Nikos Alexiou, George Andreas, Katerina Andrioti, Erene Archolekka, Michalis Ignatiou, Justine Fragkoulis, Elias Neofotistos, Tasos Mouzakis, Maria Michelis and many others. Publishing houses Psychogios, Pella Publishing, Greek in Print, Livanis and the bookshop of the National Herald will also be presented during the event.

The writers will come together to present their published work to the attending public in a one-day long event. For eight hours, the public will have the chance to interact with the authors and get their book copies signed by them. A large part of the expo will focus on children’s books.

The expo will be hosted at the Cultural Center “Peter G. Patridis” of the St. Demetrios Community in Astoria and is free and open to the public.

Coordinators of the one-day event are the editor of Greek News, Apostolis Zoupaniotis, actress and director Martha Tombolidou, and Dr. Katerina Andrioti.

The Archdiocesan Children’s Greek Chorus, and composer and acclaimed pianist Athena Adamopoulos will also perform during the event. Special guest and sponsor of the event is entrepreneur Yiannis Katimatidis. One of the books to be presented at the expo is “For the Love of Others” by Justine Fragkoulis.
