Greek Byzantine Sacred Music Concert in New York

The Axion Estin Foundation in New York (AEF) presented a concert of Greek Byzantine Sacred and Folk Music to promote this type of music in the USA.

The event was free to the public and held at the Greek reception room ‘Sarantakos’ of St. Nicholas Church in Flushing.

Activities began with a pre-concert lecture by Dr. Alexandros Konrad Khalil from the University of California, who discussed texts and sounds of the chanters of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Next concert of the Axion Estin Foundation in New York will take place under the auspices of the Metropolitan Museum of New York in March, 2012.
