US Vice President Joe Biden met with Archbishop Demetrios, of the Greek Orthodox Church in New York on November 16. The meeting was held at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese premises in Manhattan, NY, in which the US official expressed his sincere hopes that Greece will find its way out of the crisis.
The meeting between the two men lasted for one hour, and according to ANA-MPA information, the topics of discussion included the religious freedom of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul, the re-opening of the Theological School of Halki, the Cyprus Problem and the name dispute between Greece and FYROM.
The meeting was also attended by close partners of his Eminence the Archbishop of America. Both sides made no statements afterwards.
