Mario Frangoulis to Perform at Fundraiser for St. Catherine’s

Internationally acclaimed tenor and Sony recording artist Mario Frangoulis will perform a program of inspirational songs in a benefit concert for St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church of Braintree, MA on December 3, 2011 at the Blackman Theatre, Northeastern University in Boston. Frangoulis will be accompanied by the Greek Chamber Music Ensemble, Panagiotis Liaropoulos, Music Director.

This concert is dedicated to the spirit of St. Catherine of Alexandria, her brilliance, beauty, and martyrdom. The title of the concert, “Resounding Spirit” was inspired by the famous poem “Vox Sonora Nostri Chori” which was written about St. Catherine by the well-known 12th Century poet Adam of St. Victor.

Frangoulis is referred to as one of Greece’s “national treasures,” and is best known for his powerful and charismatic live performances. In addition to two highly acclaimed international releases which were fixtures on the Billboard Classical Crossover Charts, “Sometimes I Dream” and “Follow Your Heart,” Frangoulis has another ten solo albums and is featured on many compilations with world famous artists such as Lara Fabian, Justin Hayward, Sarah Brightman, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Natalie Merchant, Madeleine Peyroux and others. His next international release, “Beautiful Things” will be available in Europe in late 2011, and in the United States in 2012.
