American Collector Returns Ancient Coins to Greece

An American collector has returned twenty-two silver coins of ancient Greece. Fifty-four year old Jonathan Kegan, a graduate of Harvard and wealthy collector from the USA, who bought the coins at an auction in 2000, in New York, published the findings of his study and handed the treasure to the Greek Consulate in New York.

His desire was to enrich the collections of the Numismatic Museum in Athens, in honor of Professor John H. Kroll of the University of Texas, whose work is a milestone in the study of coinage in Athens.
