American-Hellenic Institute Sends Letter to Hillary Clinton

The president of the American Hellenic Institute (AHI), whose headquarters are in Washington, D.C. Nick Larigakis, sent a nine page letter to the USA Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hillary Clinton, on the occasion of her visit to Turkey and Greece.
In the letter, he refers to basic issues which are related to the Hellenic-Americans community and comply with ecumenically acceptable principles concerning the respect to the national laws and the international law, as the Greek Service of the “Voice of America” (VOA) mentions.
The proposals of the AHI, complies with America’s interests and underlined that Greece is important for the realization of strategic aims of USA in the wider area (Balkans, East Europe, Russia, Middle East, North Africa and Suez Canal). They also note that Greece constitutes a commercial goods and energy resources hub.
The AHI, concludes that Greece is the most stable country in the Balkans economically and politically. What is more, it is also highlighted that Greece has contributed to establishing political and economical stability in the Balkans, investing more than 22 billion dollars and thus creating 200.000 jobs and offering 750 million dollars to support the economic growth of the area.
