Event Held for Greek Chairman of Republican National Committee, NYC

An event to support the new Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Reince Priebus, who was elected to this high office last February, was organized by expatriate Greeks at the famous restaurant “Boathouse” in the heart of Central Park in Manhattan.

”Mr. Priebus was warmly welcomed”, stated the National Herald.

“I am proud to be Greek, it is a blessing from God to be Greek,” Priebus stated in his speech, and sent a call to all expatriates to participate and offer their services in public life.
Mr. Priebus is of Greek and German descent and grew up in the City of Kenosha, Wisconsin. His mother, Dimitra who comes from Mytilene has said in an interview in Politico.com, that her son began to participate voluntarily in the Republican Party at the age of ten years.
Mr. Priebus is a lawyer and partner at a law firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is married to Sally and has two children. According to Politico.com, Priebus helped the successful campaign of Michael Steele for the Chairmanship of the Republican National Committee.
The expat member of parliament, Gus Bilirakis of Florida attended the event in Manhattan, as well as expatriate Greeks, John Katsimatidis, Harry Wilson, Chris Pappas, George Stamas, George Tsounis, Peter Pappas, Peter Skoufalos, Dean Spanos, Nicholas Bouras, Lee Rupas and John Mavroudis.
