Vice President Joe Biden held a meeting with Greek-American sponsors of the Democratic party of the Greek community in the USA, on June 30th. Main issues discussed were the financial crisis in Greece, the Cyprus issue, and the violation of religious freedoms of Ecumenical Patriarchate.
The Vice President is head of the campaign of the forthcoming election in 2012.
The Greek Community expressed its dissatisfaction with President Barack Obama because he did not fulfill his promises about renouncing the Turkish occupation of the northern part in Cyprus and implementing human rights on the island.
In the meeting, wealthy Greeks were present, among them sponsors of politicians, representative of Ecumenical Patriarchate, and executives of Cyprus bodies such as Philip Christopher, Peter Papanikolaou, Endy Zemenides.
