American Conservative Senators Request to Stop Greek Aid

A new series of events and factors, which made their appearance yesterday, gave a new dramatic turn on the issue of “Solving the crisis of the Greek public debt.”

The on-going procrastination of our European partners in their decision-making on new aid to Greece – which was also reflected yesterday in the course of the markets – has caused intense anxiety on the other side of the Atlantic.

Despite the fact that Barack Obama makes constant appeals and exhortations to support the Greek economy, the interim leader of the International Monetary Fund, John Lipsky, requested all Europeans yesterday in Luxembourg “to stop quarreling on the terms of the new aid package and act so as to prevent a domino effect beyond the eurozone, which will lead to global collapse. “
The IMF seems to be particularly annoyed with the German attitude and the fact that Merkel’s government does not take quick decisions about Greece’s problem, but let things reach a breaking point.
On the other hand, a U.S. Senators move came  to rock the boat. Republicans from Texas, Utah and Louisiana
(all three are very conservative states) are planning to submit a proposal, which – if enacted by law – would force the Treasury to vote against helping the IMF to rescue troubled countries within the eurozone. The main argument of this group of senators is that American taxpayers should not and cannot shoulder the burden of rescuing countries with problematic economics, such as Greece.
