The biannual event- inspired by the idea of “Greek America’s Best and Brightest Stars”— is the top achievement award show for Greek Americans. The awards recognize the best and brightest individuals who have excelled in their respective fields and strive for excellence in all they do. The Gabby Awards were created to celebrate and reward the excellence Greek Americans have achieved in various fields. Founded in 2009 to also celebrate the 15th anniversary of the launching of Greek America Magazine, the Gabby Awards serve as the “Oscars®” of the Greek American community. The Gabby Awards are the Greek American community’s first and only awards where the winners are decided by popular vote, thus serving as the true voice of the people.

Nine awards will be given in categories ranging from the performing arts, to politics, to business. Two Lifetime Achievement Awards will also be given to former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis and artist Stephen Antonakos.

The three-day celebration of Greek-America’s Best and Brightest will close on Sunday with a concert by the Greek music band Trifono.
