American Hellenic Council to Honor Katehi, Vlahakis, Anagnostopoulos, and Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen

On Saturday April 9, 2011 the American Hellenic Council of Southern California (AHC), a political organization which promotes Greek-American interests, will host its 36th Annual Honors Dinner Dance at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.

Each year, AHC celebrates the achievements of dedicated political and community leaders who have made major contributions to Hellenic causes.  This year, with well known actor Jogn Aniston, as the event’s MC, the Council will recognize the accomplishments of four honorees – Linda Katehi, Eftichios Vlahakis, Georgios Anagnostopoulos, and congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

In addition to these distinguished individuals, many other dignitaries and high-profile community members are expected to be in attendance, including Consul General of Greece Ms. Elisavet Fotiadou, Consul General of Cyprus Mr. Andreas Kyprianides, and AHC Co-Founder and Board Member Aris Anagnos.

The reception will begin at 6:00 PM.  The dinner and awards program will begin at 7:00 PM.  The Omni Hotel is located on 251 South Olive Street in Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Since its inception, the American Hellenic Council has been the focal point of political activities of Greek-Americans in California. In its 35 years, the AHC has become an effective and respected political action group whose purpose is to lobby the U.S. Congress for the protection and promotion of Greek-American interests. The American Hellenic Council has supported numerous issues on behalf of the Hellenic American community, participated and sponsored fundraising events, and raised significant contributions for members of Congress who support Hellenic issues.
