Boston’s Greeks Provide Food to Homeless Veterans

A group of volunteers of the Greek Orthodox Church of Boston provides once a month, free food to homeless veterans. The dinner is prepared by donations from volunteers, which are concentrated in a specialized fund. According to the Ministry of Veterans of the USA, there are 1,750 homeless veterans, 25% of the total number of homeless people. This action started six years ago by Greek doctor Maria Koulmanda who is also a professor at Harvard University.  The efforts provide food and support to homeless people. Many Greek expatriates have followed in her example.
