Writer, actor, producer – and businessman – Robert Krantz, will be coming to Chicago on September 18 for a reading and signing of his book, Falling in Love with Sophia, in support of the Metropolis of Chicago Philoptochos annual luncheon. 
Krantz – whose Greek name is Haralambos Karountzos – is best known for the 1997 film he wrote, produced and starred in, called Do You Wanna Dance. The movie was filmed in Chicago and was based on the life and ministry of Father Chris Kerhulas, who lovingly served Saint Basil Church in Chicago for many years. Often referred to as a “multi-talented and multi-media man” he is also known for his company, Ellinas Multimedia – created in 1999 – of which he creates “products made with Greeks in mind.”
Krantz has developed documentaries, films and other products, however this is his first novel. Sophia explores destiny – are two people really destined to be together? It’s the story of Michael Alexopoulos. He meets Sophia and instantly knows she’s the one he’s destined to be with, that there’s no one else like her in the world. Their connection is unexplainable, yet perfect. The only problem – they are only in the sixth grade. The reader follows Michael on his life’s journey, to see what destiny really has in store. Is Sophia his destiny? Would the fates bring them together forever?
He lives in Aliso Viejo, California with his wife and three sons.
