Discussion on the Greek Crisis and EU

Dr. Konstantinos Kourtikakis

The Hellenic Professional Society of Illinois, in partnership with the National Hellenic Museum and the University of Illinois’ Modern Greek Studies program, will present a discussion on the current Greek financial crisis with Professor Konstantinos Kourtikakis, on June 26 at 6:30 pm at the National Hellenic Museum in Chicago.

The discussion will focus on the events that set the stage for the current financial crisis in Greece, plus the implications of the crisis on the European Union, the US – and the world. Attendees will learn about the crisis, reforms and subsequent happenings in Greece.

Dr. Kourtikakis is adjunct professor for the College of Law at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, European Union Center, and Modern Greek Studies Program. The instructor earned his B.A. in International and European Economic and Political Studies from the University of Macedonia (Greece) and his Ph.D. in Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Political Theory from the University of Pittsburgh. He has written and spoken extensively on topics relating to the EU.
