The London-based and Greek-born designer, Marios Schwab is creative director for the Halston label. He was born in 1978 in Athens where he grew up and at age 15 decided he wanted to make fashion his life. The designer of Greek and Austrian heritage debuted his collection on the runway this monday at New York Fashion Week 2010.
Sarah Jessica Parker, recently named the chief creative officer and President of the US label Halston will be designing a contemporary label called Halston Heritage. She showed up to check out what her new colleague, Schwab who designs the higher-end collection, had done. Parker proudly watched the presentation of Schwab’s stunning show Monday night on the west side of Manhattan. The beautiful dresses were elegant and vibrant in color.
Here is what Marios said about the woman who wears his collection:
“The woman who wears Halston in 2010 not only wants that effortless chic but also more graphic and edgy elements.”
“While walking down the streets of New York, I sometimes see the girl who means Halston to me. But it’s not just one woman, it’s a lot of women. It could be ‘Upper East Side,’ or ‘Lower East Side. I like the contradiction,” he said.”
