CYPRECO Brings to NYC "The Everlasting Songs of Vasilis Tsitsanis"

On Friday, November 6, 2009 at 8pm, the Cultural Organization CYPRECO of America, Inc., presents another unique Greek concert as part of its cultural mission of showcasing and promoting the rich musical inheritance of Greece among Greek Americans and Americans. The concert titled “The Everlasting Songs of Vasilis Tsitsanis” will take place at The Stathakion Cultural Center, 22-51 29th Street in Astoria, New York and will feature the popular Greek American singer Vicky Palma accompanied by her orchestra comprised by some of the finest New York-based musicians involved with Greek music and led by Kostas Psarros, bouzouki/vocals.

Lovers of Greek music will enjoy a two-hour musical performance that will revive some of the most popular and representative Rembetika (Greek Blues) and Laika (Popular-Folk) songs of Greece’s legendary songwriter/singer Vasilis Tsitsanis.

With this concert CYPRECO concludes its 2009 festivities on the occasion of its 30-year anniversary. The concert is to benefit the public service and commercial-free bilingual Greek-American radio AKTINA FM on WNYE-91.5FM.
