16-year-old John Katehis Admitts Killing of the ABC Reporter

It was a few weeks ago when journalists at ABC started to worry about their colleague who would not return their calls. After two days police found Weber, a veteran ABC radio newsman, dead in his apartment with fifty stab wounds and his ankles bound with duct tape.

The apartment seemed messy, and it appeared that the person who killed the reporter had suffered a knife injury, as he made use of Weber’s shower and changed his bloody clothes with some from Weber’s closet, police said.

Last Tuesday, police arrested 16-year-old John Katehis, of Queens, who, they said, admitted he killed Weber after answering an ad on Craigslist in which the 47-year-old reporter sought a sexual liaison.
Katehis was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Wednesday charged with second degree murder, and criminal possession of a weapon. He plead was not guilty.

The MySpace page of the young Greek-American showed a youth with tattoos of “666” and “diablo” and pictures with him holding knives.

In the page it was mentioned that Katehis liked “drinking, bike riding, hanging out, roof hopping, hanging off trains… I am an extremist, an anarchist and a sadomasochist. As long as you show respect for me, I will show respect for you.”
