U.S. President Donald Trump has removed Greek-American aide George Gigicos from his rally organizing position, after the poor attendance at the president’s Phoenix Convention Center speech last week, according to a Bloomberg report.
The former White House director of advance, who had organized the Phoenix event as a contractor to the Republican National Committee, is the second Greek-American on the president’s team who leaves the White House. He is following former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus who resigned in late July.
According to Bloomberg, Gigicos was responsible for organizing of all of Trump’s signature campaign events and several rallies since entering office. He left his White House job as director of advance to return to his consulting business. But he continued to work for Trump’s re-election campaign and for the Republican National Committee.
