Greek Festival Celebrates Hellenic Culture in Alaska, August 18-20

The Alaska Greek Festival returns to the state capital Anchorage on Friday for the 23rd year, according to KTVA Alaska.  

The three-day festival will take place on the grounds of the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church. It will be a celebration of the the people, culture, and spirit of Alaska’s Greek community, through “tastes, smells, sights and sounds of Greece”. 

There will be plenty of activities for the whole family including dancing, an auction, and even a bounce house for the kids.

There will also be plenty of Greek food, for which the festival is known for. There will be Greek classic dishes such as lamb, moussaka, baklava and more. This year, a lucky festival goer will win a 2017 BMW xDrive 281 as part of a raffle. 

The festival begins on Friday, August 18, and goes through Sunday, August 20 at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church off O’Malley Road. For more information, you can visit the Greek Festival website.
