After a sold out concert during AKTINA’s April 2015 Greek Music Journey (GMJ) the leading Greek star, Yannis Kotsiras is returning to New York for another performance, according to AKTINA Productions, Inc.’s press release.
Yannis Kotsiras who captivated the audience in his debut personal performance in the U.S. during AKTINA’s April 2015 GMJ sold out concert, will be returning to New York by popular demand for yet another memorable performance presented by AKTINA Productions, Inc.. The concert is being produced by Elena Maroulleti.
Yannis Kotsiras will perform on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 8:30 p.m. at New York’s landmark theater, The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College on E. 68th Street, between Park and Lexington Avenues in Manhattan.
The show is benefit concert for public service media AKTINA FM-WNYE 91.5FM and AKTINA TV-WNYE Channel 25 and promises another magical evening at the Kaye with Yannis Kotsiras. The talented musician returns with a new and remarkable program featuring songs from his distinct and rich personal discography also highlighting songs from his latest hit album “Pseftis Keros” (Lying Time) released in the fall of 2016.
He will be accompanied by his band featuring the distinguished soloists, Akis Katsoupakis on piano/keyboards, Vangelis Machairas on bouzouki/baglama/tzoura, Kostas Michalos on guitars/vocals, Yiannis Grypaios on bass and Nektarios Gavalas on drums.
Yannis Kotsiras stands out for his distinct voice and his ability to bring together the different representative styles of Greek music, including the popular Rembetika (Greek blues) and Laika (popular folk) with which he launched his career in 1990.
